Looks identical with original GE filter , worked just fine for my fridge.Easy to install. Water tastes the same as with original filter. I would buy again.

The things I really like about this water filter are actually attributable to the refrigerator and not the filter. Ease of access when changing it and the fact the water does not have to be turned off when changing the filter make it a winner.By comparison the refrigerator I replaced required that it be moved out from the wall to turn the water off, getting down on my hands and knees to remove the bottom front, and a towel for cleaning up the water that drained from the old filter as it was loosened.

there is a little water in the old filter, so have a towel ready. the new one twists on easily. run several full glasses of water as the first cups taste a little weird. it will sputter a little, but that is the air that got in when you removed the old and twisted in the new. by the third full cup, the water tastes great. reset the filter light and it will tell you when another one is necessary. we also wrote with a permanent marker, the date of installation, great product and super delivery.

Water delivery is a little slower with the GE filter than with the cheaper replacement filters I've used instead. However, no other cheaper filters that I could find are certified to remove lead and mercury; neither are the cheaper filters certified to remove crypto cycts, which is equally important to me. If your only intention is to have water that tastes a little better, the cheaper filters will do that but don't expect them to provide significantly safer water as the genuine GE model is certified to do.

I received this original GE Filter quickly, packed in the original box, undamaged.. Thank you !
I see so many knock offs for this filter but will not save a few dollars for the privilege of ingesting a lot of lead and other bad stuff, thank you..
Never had a problem with the GE original filters.. The water is so, so, smooth to swallow and the flavor is perfect..
I can always tell when it is getting all used up before the light comes on because the water tastes different..

I may have paid more for peace of mind...but I can at least say the water that comes out of my ‘fridge is DELICIOUS. And flavorless. Which is how water should be.

Water tastes much better! Tried several off brand filters but quality not there. Even though price is higher I need cleaner water. Health is a lot more important than savings.. Will never use after market filters again!

This was the GE Filter I Expected. Had no problem with water taste or quality. It is exactly the same as the filter I replaced that was ordered directly from GE. The rest of the time I order from this seller. We go through a lot of water and replace our filter 3 X a year.I’ve ordered from this seller 4-5 times now. I always get a great product, shipped fast and well packaged.

I probably drink less than a gallon of tap water a year. I do drink bottled water and filtered water. I use my refrigerator to fill my coffee pot. It is obvious it works as when I replace it the old one, after the water is disposed is much heavier than the new one. It has trapped many things as the water flowed through it.
